There is a non-profit push to save Edmonds famous “Pink House“ which has been determine to be a historic property in Edmonds Wa. Susan Blalock knows her plan to save Edmonds’ Pink House is far from a sure thing.
“It is a race against time,” she said. “We realize it is a risk. But we are willing to take the gamble.”
Blalock has signed a month-to-month lease for the historic home as she pursues her vision: turning the Pink House into the “Rose House,” a Center for Creative and Humanitarian Endeavors, a non-profit center dedicated to advancing the arts, the environment, and community conversations. Lets put this together Edmonds, history is good for our community with out it you lose track of where you came from.

“Defeat is a state of mind. No one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as reality. To me, defeat in anything is merely temporary, and its punishment is but an urge for me to greater effort to achieve my goal. Defeat simply tells me that something is wrong in my doing; it is a path leading to success and truth.”
Bruce Lee, 1940-1973, Martial Artist, Actor and Author

Yost Pool Kids
Supporters of Yost Pool want to see the pool to remain open and the must needed repairs done. Besides Yost Pool has been around for 35 years, it has fond memories for a lot of Edmonds community from the very young to the middle age. Yost Pool was the subject of my first story on this blog The 29th annual Cannonball Belly Flop contest I remember it well, that wouldn’t go over very well in a indoor pool. The out door atmosphere and surroundings make Yost Pool a great location. Lets not have a bunch town meetings and spend thousands of tax payers money looking for another location to build another pool. Besides this sounds like a lack of maintenance issues over the past 35 years. Its just like your home you can’t go 35 years with out maintaining the property and expect it not to have any issues. Oh well I guess all of us that want to see Yost Pool remain will need to continue to let the city council KNOW HOW WE FEEL!!! And lets really look at this issue with out spending a bunch of money $84,000 to spin our wheels.

Today could be the very last time you see the Jimbo’s Restaurant signage. It has been schedule for demolition along with the nearby Pizza Hut, and China First Restaurant. Jimbo’s once one of the better roadside restaurants and landmarks in Lynnwood closed its doors in 2006 due excavation. If you never had a chance to dine at Jimbo’s you missed some good food, and great service. Rumor has it we could see another Home Depot or some other large retailer in there spot. So long Jimbo’s it was nice dining with ya!!
