If your a jazz lover this Memorial Day weekend will be a big treat in Edmonds Wa. Jazz enthusiasts are counting the days to the 2009 Edmonds Jazz Connection, which this year features renowned vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway. Ms. Callaway will take the stage for the evening concert at the Edmonds Center Of the Arts, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23


Throughout the day, King Jazz will rule!  While the redoubtable Ms. Callaway is the piece de resistance, the daytime schedule is solid throughout.

The day’s schedule:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Free continuous big band, vocal and combo jazz by 15 acclaimed Northwest student groups at three walkable venues in downtown Edmonds.
• – Big Bands – Edmonds Center For The Arts (410 – 4th Avenue North).
• – Combos – Edmonds Theatre (415 Main Street).
• – Vocals – Edmonds Masonic Center (515 Dayton Street).  A special performance is scheduled from 12
noon to 1 p.m.
